The most difficult part of renting a mountain bike is deciding where to ride in the Heber Valley or Park City areas. There are thousands of miles of trails within 30-45 minutes of our rental location. We have listed some of our favorite mountain biking trails near Park City below. Call us and we can always give you additional places to ride. We are avid mountain bikers and can help you determine a trail that best fits your riding style, experience and time frame. It doesn’t matter if you are cruising a local bike path or charging a tight single track trail, you want the comfort and performance of a full suspension mountain bike. We have a bike for you! Get ready to take it to Moab, cruise the local bike path, or stomp some local single track. Either way, you are gonna love it! Price includes a helmet or feel free to bring your own.
Our Bikes:
This trail is located in the Wasatch Mountain State Park. Most often done as a shuttle ride. If you have 2 cars you can drop one at the bottom and drive to the top then enjoy a 10 mile decent dropping 3000 vertical feet to your car waiting below. For those in great shape you can pedal up to the top and then turn around for a great and rewarding decent after you have “Earned your turns!”
The Deer Creek Trail is a segment of the Provo-Jordan River Parkway Trail. This non-motorized trail is 8.03 miles long and is located on the western hillside above Deer Creek Reservoir. The trail is designed for biking, equestrian use and hiking. The trail provides access to the western shore of Deer Creek for walk-in anglers. No dogs are allowed on the trail. No trespassing within 1500 feet of the dam.

Soldier Hollow Trailhead – Located at Soldier Hollow.
This is a paved section of bike trail that runs along the Provo River. From Heber a good place to start is Vivian Park in Provo Canyon. Enjoy a nice scenic ride down the canyon following the river. Once at the bottom of the canyon the paved parkway trail continues through Provo all the way down to Utah Lake. If starting at Vivian Park, remember that you are riding downhill and you will have to pedal back up to your vehicle. Your other option is to start at the bottom or “mouth” of the canyon, where there is a designated parking area, and ride up the canyon until you are tired and then return back to your car. From either direction, stopping at Bridal Veil Falls is a must!
Dutch Hollow is approximately 15 minutes from our shop and located on Dutch Canyon Road just off from river road in Midway, Utah. This is a great network of trails comprising beginner to intermediate with some advanced trails. There are a number of short trails that intersect one with another. Lot’s of fun single track and some great views of the valley. Climb and descend as much as you like. For a map and more information click here.
This is a great trail system that has some smaller loops and connectors as well as the bigger Coyote Loop. The Coyote Loop is a great loop, but probably suited best for intermediate to advanced riders. This trail runs along Heber’s east bench and up over the ridge. It has aspects that face west, south and north. It is an excellent early season trail, but the north side may take more time to be free of snow. It is an all single track loop that is 20.5 miles long with 24oo’ of elevation gain. A great cross country ride. Plan on 3+ hours to do the whole loop. Along the ride you will have incredible views of the Heber Valley and Jordanelle Reservoir. You can also just do sections of this trail as an out and back if you are not up for the full loop or one of our favorites is the upper river view, lower river view and Sheep Bones Loop. 11 miles and around 1100′ of elevation gain. The Park City and Deer Valley area has hundreds upon hundreds of miles of trails. You can climb and descend all day! There are individual trail systems such as Round Valley, Utah Olympic Park, Park City area, Deer Valley area, Deer Crest and more! Honestly, it can be a little overwhelming if you haven’t put some mile on in the area. Luckily for you we have and can help you decide!
We all have our limitations, but with lift service you can ride more, spend more time on the mountain and experience more than when having to pedal uphill. Park City Mountain Resort, the Canyons Resort, Deer Valley and Sundance Resort all offer lift service for mountain biking. Many of these resorts have a wide range of difficulty level trails. So be aware of what your skill level is and choose a trail that is appropriate. The canyons and park city mountain resort both have a bike park and deer valley has some very advanced trails and a “flow” section of trail. Sundance mountain resort probably has the most beginner to intermediate trails available. When choosing a trail or resort to ride, remember that the bikes we rent are geared more as a cross country / trail bike. Many of the “expert” downhill and bike park trails would be a bit much for these bikes.
This is a good start for some great trails in the area to mountain bike. Many of us here at the shop are avid cyclist and can point you in the right direction for additional trails in the area.
